The following positions are open at Bridge Way for 2018 – 19 academic year:

English/language arts teacher

The successful candidate will have experience developing an engaging curriculum that integrates written and oral expression, encourages literacy in major genres including film, and inspires independent reading. In addition, the candidate will have experience with differentiated instruction, and be able to teach students of varying skill and interest levels. This is a full-time position.

Social studies teacher

The successful candidate will have experience developing an engaging and relevant curriculum that inspires student curiosity for both the review of historical periods and current events. In addition, the candidate will have experience with differentiated instruction, and be able to teach students of varying skill and interest levels. This is a full-time position.

Physical Education teacher

The successful candidate will have experience teaching both individual and team skills and demonstrated capacity to motivate students to participate in physical  activity and make good choices about their health and well-being. This is a part-time position.

Math tutor

The successful candidate will be able to coach and facilitate learning of math content from pre-algebra to calculus. Bridge Way uses an online curriculum for math since the range of content area needed by our students is expansive. The successful candidate will be facile across math content and will demonstrate instructional agility to move from one content area to another based on student need. This position is 10 – 12 hours/week. College and masters students will be considered for this role provided they have strong math skills.

All candidates must be PA certified teachers in secondary education and provide the following clearances: FBI fingerprint, PA child abuse, and PA criminal background check. 

Dual certification in another discipline and experience with recovery from substance use disorder or in recovery support services a plus.
